AMERICAN BORN CHINESE
American Born Chinese us three small interesting stories. So I divided my summary into three parts.
Part 1
summery:
THE MONKEY KING: Monkey king trained a lot and he became the most powerful monkey in the Flower-fruit mountain. Once he want to go to the dinner party, but he was rejected by the door man. So he got angry and then he beat everyone in that party. When he came back to his house. He notice that he still is monkey.
JIN WANG: This boy is from China. When he sign in to a new American School, he was treated like a weird person who like to eat dog.In the class, there is only one Asian student is SUZY, and they do not want to cause any rumors so they are not friends. Moreover, no one is willing to be friend with him except Peter. But Peter just wanna took advantages from Wang. Until there came another Chinese boy, Wei-Chen Sun, they became very good friend.

What I am thinking:
At present, China became more and more powerful but some western countries have bias about Chinese. They still think China is in a very poor condition. I think this is not all blame on foreigners since lots of Chinese when they travel to other countries, they do not show some good things to foreigners. For instance, some famous sights in other countries, they will particularly have a sign,written something like Do Not Walk On Grass, in Chinese. It does not mean they only want to notice Chinese. Since a lot of Chinese did those things so the sight will give the sign to notice people. And Chinese who did those rude things are not all of Chinese. They are just a small part of it.
And for Jin Wang, even for me, a college student, still have some problems like this. We can not fit into American native students, and we still hang out with Chinese students. This may not be what I want, but I tried and I failed. At the beginning of this semester, I want to make some foreigner friends. But we do not share language and cultures. We are not easily to communicate. Like I have trouble to follow what they are saying since I do not have those culture background like they do. Although I like watch TV series but those shows are not exactly as same as life. Maybe I should try again to make friends with foreigners.However, I just used to my new life.
Part 2
Summery:
MONKEY KING: After the dinner in the haven,The Monkey king is very depressed . Then he lock himself up and train himself. After a long time, he mastered 12 disciplines of kung-fu. At the same time, he convicted by heaven since the party thing. At first, he should executed by Ao-kuang, but he has those skills which prevent him from death.So he beat everyone he could. Then he think he is not a monkey and ask everyone call him “THE GREAT SAGE，EQUAL OF HEAVEN“. Finally, Tze-Yo-Tzuh, the boss of heaven, came to see the monkey king. The monkey king thought he can beat Tze-Yo-Tzuh, but he even can not run out the hand of Tze-Yo-Tzuh. But he still do no admit he is a monkey, so Tze-Yo-Tzuh buried The monkey king under rocks.

JIN WANG: Jin Wang fall in love with Amelia but he is too afraid to say it. Even just a normal conversion with Amelia will cause Jin Wang every nervous and he always guess something happened between Amelia and Greg . And at the same time, Wei-Chen started dating Suzy. During an after-school experience, Wei-Chen locked in a small house with Amelia. Jin Wang rescue them out. Then he ask Amelia out for a date and Amelia says yes.
What I am thinking:
The Monkey king is so arrogant. He always think he is not a monkey and he can be something else like a human. But I am impressed by his insistence for training those skills. It is true that he is very good at Kung-Fu. However, until he notice his own position, he will never use those skills right. Tze-Yo-Tzuh wanna him know, something can beat him. He is not unbeatable and he is still a monkey. In our daily life, we always can meet some same situation. For instance, when I was a child, I played cello for some years but not so long. But I am very arrogant, and think I am the best one. I stopped practice cello since I think I can master all of it. When my cello teacher played me a very high-level music. I am astonished and notice there always are some one or some thing else can be better than you. What we should do is work harder.
Jin Wang's story just remains me my high school's life. Back to that time, I like a boy in my heart and for a long time. I do not wanna him know about. And during that time every gesture of that boy decide my happy or not. I will very happy if he reply my message, but he talk to some girls else I will think so hard if there are something between them. I still like that period.
Part 3
Summery:
CHIN-KEE&DANNY:Chin-kee answered correctly every question teacher asked. And he pee in Steve's, Danny's friends, coke. Then Danny told Steve that becauset of Chin-kee, every time Chin-kee came to his school, when Chin-kee went back to home. Danny need to find a new school. But Steve told Danny, it won't happen again this time. Moreover, Melanie keep Danny away since those cousin things.
THE MONKEY KING: There are four monks. One of them named Lai-Tsao. He will divide food to the poor in the condition that he do not have enough food. He think Tze-Yo-Tzuh give him all him want so he should feed other. Then he is selected to deliver three packages to the west. First step, he need to ask the monkey king to go with him. When Lau-Tsao mention find true identity, the monkey notice all the thing and rescue Lai-Tsao from those monsters. After that, they go to the Journey To The West.

If I meet someone like Chin-Kee, I will definitely go crazy and beat that man so hard. I do not know can Danny stand all those things. It is so embarrass that bring someone so rude and themselves do not notice that. It is okay that you play a jock but you cannot go out the line too much. Then Chin-Kee almost ruin everything in the Danny's life. And Danny still need treat Chin-Kee well. I think it is a real challenge for everyone to experience things like this. I think it is not about the Chinese. It is about Chin-kee, himself. The problem happened on his own. So we should forbid those things Chin-Kee did.
In the end of this part of The Monkey King. The Monkey King finally find a person who can control him and make himself notice that the meaning of his life. His life should not spent under those rocks. He should do something great. We should do the same thing, like the monkey king. Maybe we still in the stage of buried by the rocks. But one day, we will meet someone guide us to the brightened road.
Part 4
Summery:
JIN WANG：Jin Wang go out with Amelia for movies and they have a really great time spent with each other. But Greg told Jin Wang stay away from Amelia since he is not suitable for Amelia. Jin Wang is very struggle with it and then he met Wei-Chen's girlfriend and she is very depressed too since Timmy called her a chink of the party. Suddenly Jin Wang kisses Suzy.Then Wei-Chen and Jin Wang are no more friends. When Jin Wang fall asleep, in the dream he become to Danny.
What I am thinking:
Tze-Yo-Tzuh forgive anyone, but we can not. We all have our own thoughts, and all the people wanna live for ourselves. Like Wei-Chen, at beginning, he think Tze-Yo-Tzuh is a fool. Who will forgive a emissary since it is really hard for someone to forgive someone who kissed his girlfriend and the man also is his best friend. I think what Wei-Chen did is within humanity.
The ending of this story is very surprising. I never thought this three stories will connected to each other. But the main idea of this book,I think still is revoke the true side of our humanity.It is true that everyone have some dark side of ourselves. We can not to deny it and we should face it. And get over it, maybe by your own, maybe with other's assistance.It does not matter. All the live care about is the ending of it.
